Lance Armstrong lands 4th in Ask Men's top 49 men of 2006. Is this an indication that cycling's going big-time? Armstrong came in just ahead of Tom Ford and behind Virgin Empire's CEO Richard Branson. Tops on the 2006 list is George Clooney.

Züri Metzgete

Samuel Sanchez became the first Euskaltel-Euskadi rider to win a one day classic. At the end of what was a wet edition of the Züri Metzgete, Sanchez attacked a leading group of six to solo into Zurich with half a minute to spare over CSC's stuart O'Grady and Gerolsteiner's Davide Rebellin. Team CSC put 3 riders in the top seven. Impressive riding by the top team in pro cycling from Denmark. Alejandro Valverde locked up the Pro Tour, as cycling heads into its final races of 2006.

Teeny Weeny

Itsy bitsy teeny weeny little Paolo Bettini finally won the world championships. Good for him, he deserves it. And we'll be happy to see him ditch all that gawdy gold colored crap he's been using since winning the Olympics in Athens ;)
